Born Abdul Vali, he wrote under his pen-name Uzlat. An admirer of painting and music, he travelled extensively from Gujarat to Hyderabad to Delhi. Therefore, his poetry comes out to be extremely vivid. Uzalat has composed poetry in both Persian and Gujari languages. Among his written works, Raga-Mala, Baramasa, Saqi-nama and Diwan-i-Persian are famous. He is the last of all Gujari poets. After him, the phase of Urdu poetry is seen in Gujarat.
