Profile of Aiyub Ali Razvi

Maulana Syed Ayub Rizvi ibn Syed Shujaat Ali Ibn Syed Turab Ali Ibn Syed Pir Ali Bareilly Sharif was born in Uttar Pradesh. For sometime in Islamiya school, Bareilly, he studied Persian among other subjects. Later, as he swore allegiance to Hazrat Ahmad Raza Khan Barelvi, Ayub devoted himself to him. Ayb was entrusted with the task of writing Ahmad’s sermons. He visited the shrines of religious leaders in Karbala, Mali, Baghdad, Najaf, Ashraf and Basra. He did the pilgrimage of Hajj three times. He stayed in Madinah for two and a half years. Two years after the demise of Hazrat Ahmad, he established the Rizvi Library in Bareilly and published several journals of his teachings, and started a movement to compile his biography. Ayub’s collective works published by the name ‘Kalam-e-Bagh-e-Firdousi’. Apart from Naat and Manqabat, he has also written well on Gagar and Urs. He passed away on Friday, November 26, 1970 and was buried in Mayani Sahib Cemetery, Lahore.
