Profile of Dariya Saheb
In different historical and biographical texts, two saints named Dariya Saheb are mentioned. One from Bihar, the other, from Marwar. About 20 compositions of Dariya Saheb of Bihar are found and the most important among them is the Bijak. Apart from this, compositions named Dariyasagar and Gyandeepak are also published. A composition called Gyan-Swarodaya is also written by him, which is about phonology. Dariya Saheb's ideology is similar to Kabir's. He is of the opinion that God is omnipresent, thus, making the sect a pantheist one. The Dariyadasi sects promoted by him are especially prevalent in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Also, his shrines are found in Saran and Muzaffarpur.
