Profile of Dost Muhammad Abulolai
Mir Syed Dost Muhammad Abulolai was a disciple of Syedna Ameer Abulola. Dost was a famous Sufi of the Abulolaiya dynasty. It is said that he was a resident of Bengal and reached Agra seeking Sufi learning and benefited from the company of Syedna Ameer Abulolai. He was a devout Sufi and a Faqir who's always on foot. At the behest of Syedna Ameer Abulola, he left Agra for Burhanpur, and there the rest of the followers engaged in showing him the straight path. Dost died in 1090 AH.; his shrine is in Burhanpur is a place of adoration. An article by Mir Syed Dost Muhammad is well known as "Pem Kahani". It was written in Hindi Dohas upon the separation of his followers. Thus far, two interpretations of this text have come to light. The first commentary was written by Sheikh Burhanuddin Raz Ilahi and the second commentary was published by Nisar Akbarabadi, a distinguished disciple and disciple of Shah Akbar Danapuri under the name of "Fasana-e-Dil".
