He belonged to Karzai (District- Hardoi), and taught in the Madrasa Bannapur in Badhauli. He wrote under the pen-name 'Hafiz'. His major compositions are (1) Navin Sangrah, (2) Hazara, (3) Prem Tarangini, (4) Mana Mohini and (5) Rasik Sanjeevani.
