Born Syed Hassan on December 13, 1913, in Azimabad, Patna, his father was Nawab Syed Naseer Hussain Khan and belonged to a distinguished family of Azimabad. He entered Muhammadan School, Patna, where he passed the entrance examination. After graduating from IA, he did BA with distinction from Patna University in 1937 with distinction marks. After that he continued to teach in Hyderabad and then in Chittagong College. Hasan Azimabadi served in the Chittagong branch of Taraqqi-e-Urdu founded by Maulvi Abdul Haq from 1956 to 1960. His writings were published in most of the magazines and were much-liked in the literary circles.
