Born Syed Hassan Imam, he wrote under the pen name Hassan. He is the successor of Syed Ali Imam Barrister. He was fond of writing poems since his childhood. He was dear to every heart in his city and community. That is why he used to write Warsi after his name. When his wife and children passed away, it had a profound effect on his heart and he adopted the sacred Ihram. Asghar Syed Hussain was staying in Delhi with Imam and his family, from where he flew to Karachi with his younger brother and their children and stayed in the same city till death. Hassan Imam Warsi's brother Asghar Hussain Imam was a famous leader of the Muslim League. Hassan Imam also used to hold poetry recitals in the city of Gaya and invite great poets. He had a rare collection of Persian, Urdu and English books which he managed to get from Gaya. They are now preserved in Karachi. Hassan Imam Warsi died in Karachi in 1961.
