Profile of Ishrati
Ishrati's father Syed Yusuf Hussain arrived in Deccan (Bijapur) from Basra to try his luck. Ishrati was only 12 when her father died. Belonging to a Syed family, there was no obstacle in the beginning of his education. Ishrati was highly respected in the Bijapur court. When Aurangzeb annexed Bijapur to his empire in 1686, Ishrati was there as highly respected as ever. Ishrati's mausoleum is located outside the Hyderabad Ghaziba gate, north of the tomb of Shah Raju Hussaini.
