Born to Muhammad Israil Khan, his real name was Aftab Alam Khan and his pen name was Kamil Warsi. He was born on January 4, 1961, in Mouza Mahinda, Ghazipur District. His initial education took place at a native Madrasa, but later he went on to obtain an MA (Economics), MA (Urdu), and B.Ed. Kamil Warsi was a teacher at Islamia Inter College, Shah Jahanpur. He recited poetry just for fun and took Islaah from Shaghil and Jidani.
