Alive from 1637 to 1674 Samvat, he worked for Madhukar Shah, the King of Orchha and his son Maharaj Indrajit Singh and was friends with Birbal and Todarmal. His language was Bundelkhandi and mixed Braj. He is one of the major poets of Reetikal. Among his compositions, Rasik Priya, Kavi Priya, Ratan Bawani, Ramachandrika, Jahangir Jaschandrika etc. are notable.
