Maulana Najibullah Lakhnavi Farangimahalli was born in the 19th century in the home of Maulana Masihullah, a man of great learning and grace. The elders of this family had migrated to Lucknow from Barabanki, a town in Suhali district, and then moved there. His lineage goes back to Hazrat Aiyub Ansari. Najeeb Lakhnavi's early education was done in the ancient religious style. Maulana Ainul Qaza and Maulana Abdul Baqi etc. took care of his education. After receiving Persian education from the famous Persian scholar and poet Khwaja Azizuddin Aziz Lakhnavi of his time, Najeeb himself taught in the Madrasa. He also had a deep attachment to Sufism. He belonged to the Chishtia and the Qadri order. As a human being, he was polite, civilized, selfless, creative, and absorbed in Sufi thoughts. Apart from teaching, Najeeb Lakhnavi was also a good poet. He used to show Persian poetry to Aziz Lakhnavi and Urdu Kalam to Ameer Minai. He has tried his hand at all genres of speech. Najeeb was a long-time diabetic and was laid to rest on December 18, 1940.
