Namdev ji was born in the village of Pandharpur on the banks of the Chandrabhaga river in Maharashtra. His father's name was Damaseer Darji and mother's name was Gona Bai. His birth year is considered to be 1327. However, according to some scholars, the time of birth is Samvat 1427. His guru is the famous Nathpanthi saint Sri Jnyaneshwar. His notable works are- Namdev Ji ke Pad, Rag Sorath ka Pad, Namdev Ji ki Vani, etc.
