Profile of Noor Muhammad
Noor Muhammad is considered to be the last of the poets pivotal to the Sufi-love poetry tradition. He lived in his in-law Phulpur district Azamgarh and was present till 1770 AD. He wrote in Persian with the pen-name, ‘Kam-Yab’. His major works are, ‘Anurag Bansuri’ and ‘Indravati’. Indravati has also been published and widely circulated. He predominantly uses Awadhi and his poems center around Sufi themes.
