Hazrat Shah Ameeruddin Firdausi was the Sajjada Nashin of Hazrat Makhdoom Jaha'n, Bihar Sharif. He was born on 9 Muharram 1217 AH in 1803 in the Khanqah Mu'azzam. He is the son of Hazrat Shah Waliullah Ibn Shah Aleemuddin Firdausi. Early education and training took place in the shadow of his elders. His early life was carefree and luxurious. He was a free man but when he pledged allegiance to Hazrat Shah Hussain Ali Shattari, his life changed completely and he turned his attention towards seeking truth. Shah Ameeruddin Firdausi also received guidance from Hazrat Shah Abul Hassan bin Khwaja Shah Abul Barakat Abulolai and Hazrat Hameeduddin Rajgiri. From the age of eleven, he developed a taste for poetry and speech. The first texts that he read were available in Persian. Therefore, he first wrote poetry in Persian and then also in Urdu. He used the pen-name Zuloom in Persian and Wajd in Urdu. He was a natural poet. There was a deep attachment to Sufism. There is a deep fusion of facts and knowledge in his works. Hazrat Wajd Bihari holds a unique position as a Sufi poet. In his poetry, mystical ideas appear with diversity. He passed away on Friday night, 5th Jumadi-ul-Awwal, 1287 AH. Hazrat Makhdoom Jaha'n's feet are buried in the Sajjad-gaan circle in the big Dargah.
