Profile of Sharf Azimabadi
Syed Shah Sharfuddin Ahmad Sharf Azimabadi Ibn Syed Shah Muhammad Mahdi was born on 15th June 1907 in Azimabad, Bihar. He got his early education in Sasaram. He graduated from Aligarh Muslim University and MA from Patna University. He was associated with Bihar Assembly from 1933 to 1941. Then he was transferred to the Supply Department of the Government of India. After the partition of India, Sharaf Azimabadi moved to Pakistan. He served as Assistant Director of the High Commissioner of Pakistan in London for five years, returning from London on 31 December 1966. Since he came from a learned family, the passion for reading and writing was instilled in him from the beginning. Various articles on different topics have been published in various journals by him. He also inherited the craft if poetry. He wrote poetry in many genres, which was well-received by the literary community and became a mainstay.
