Born Ahmad Hussain Khan in Shahjahanpur in 1831, he was popularly known as Haji Mia'n and Ahmad. He got his earlier education at home. He had a natural taste for Sufism and Faqr. And from a prominent Sufi of that time, Safa Maulana Ghulam Imam Khan, Haji took the oath of allegiance. He was fond of traveling. At an early age, he traveled to Kashmir and Nepal on foot. After benefiting from the visit of famous saints, he became a recluse in the latter part of his life. After seclusion, He would go out for Urs to Khwajas and monasteries for scholarships and then return to his place of seclusion again. In the last days of his life, he gave the Khilafah cloak to his brother Muhammad Tahir Hussain Khan. He was engaged in worship, education, and teaching. There was great humility in his nature. He used to compose poems but he also used to say that I am not a poet. I am not aware of the art of poetry, I just express my heartfelt feelings. He was fluent in both Persian and Urdu but preferred to recite poetry in Persian. After he suffered a stroke, He finally passed away in 1911 - 16 Zil-Hijjah 1329 AH. That day was also Friday. He was buried in his Khanqah in Shahjahanpur.
