Mukarram Ahmad Mir Nazar Ali Dard Kakorvi was born in Itawah in 1891. His father, Hakim Habib Ali Habib Kakorvi, was a well-known poet and writer. Dard Kakovri received his early education from his elder brother Hakeem Wasi Ali Kakorvi and then moved to Rampur with his other brother Razi Ali Afgar. His literary and poetic tastes developed in his company and he remained there for about 35 years. He was interested in this art and also published his poems and articles in magazines and journals. Dard Kakorvi was fluent in Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. He had equal command over both prose and poetry. He had moved to Karachi from Kakorvi in his last years and left this world in 1972. His burial took place in Karachi as well.
