Fidai Jaunpuri's real name was Shah Muhammad Usman Farooqi. He used the pen name Fidai. He was born in 1860 in Walidpur Bheera town of Mau district. He settled in Delhi after visiting most of the Arabs and non-Arabs parts of the world and then moved to the Azamgarh district. He received his early education at the house of Maulvi Abdullah of Ghazipur who was a judge and chief of Ghazipur. He pursued education and succeeded in this through hard work and as a distinguished lawyer, he was engaged in his career. He chose Jaunpur as his hometown. Due to his career as a lawyer, he often had to travel to Lucknow, but when his condition became unsatisfactory, he moved to Allahabad with his son Shah Muhammad Sulaiman Barrister and continued taking treatment.
