Ibrahim Aajiz was born in Sheikhpur in 1834. He lived a short life and at the age of only 48 left his mortal coil. His hometown is Sheikhpur which is located 2 kms from town Sikandarpur, district Balya. He was buried there. He belonged to Sheikh Siddiqui lineage of Sheikhpur. He received his early education from his father. After marriage, he went to Jaunpur and studied modern science. His father Sheikh Khasal was a devout Sufi saint. Most of his ancestors were noted Dervishes and had remained unmarried. Ibrahim Ajiz had the privilege of associating with his contemporary Sufis. His contemporaries were Maulana Abdul Aleem Aasi Sikandarpuri, who later became the crown prince, and his cousins Maulana Wakil Ahmed and Maulana Bakhsh Ahmad Qazipuri and Maulana Wajid Ali Chandiri were scholars and often his classmates. One of his Diwans in Urdu and Persian which he had compiled was lost due to the misunderstanding of a friend but after a while, it was found in a miserable condition which was made fit by his great efforts and endeavors. Some poems from this Diwan have also been provided on this website. Because in his time the Persian tradition was in decline in the country. In Persian poetry, he followed Hafiz and Saadi. Persian was taken away from government offices, its pulse was kept by certain people.
