Born in Buxar on October 31, 1923, as Muhammad Mansoor Alam, he wrote under the penname Kaifi. After completing his primary and high school education he moved to Patna and obtained his HMBS degree from Homoeopathic College, Patna, and then moved to Buxar and practiced medicine at his hometown. Kaifi Warsi has also written several books on homeopathic remedies and medicine. Kaifi had a deep attachment to Jagdishpur. He was friends with Muhammad Musa Kaleem Warsi, a well-known poet of Jagdishpur. Due to that, he also stayed for a while in Jagdishpur. Kaleem Warsi's companionship turned Kaifi towards poetry. Kaifi was inclined towards poetry since the beginning but it was Kaleem Warsi who made him start participating in literary conferences of Jagdishpur and Ara. Kefi also used to participate in Mushaira. He died in Buxar in 1993 and was buried there.
