Profile of Mahmood Ali Saba
Mahmood Ali Khan was the son of Nawab Syed Ahmad Ali Khan of Patna. He was born in the city of Azimabad on Friday, August 23, 1907. His literary journey began in 1922 while he was still a matriculation student. In 1924, he founded Bazm-e-Adab in the college and organized a Mushaira in which Shad Azimabadi, Hafiz Fazal-e-Haq Azad and Tamanna Emadi and other teachers participated. A collection of the recital was also published from Azimabad. He sought his first corrections in poetry from his cousin Hameed Azimabadi and then formally joined the ranks of the students of the last period of Shad Azimabadi. Apart from ghazal, he has also recited quatrains, verses and Nazms, but he preferred to be called a ghazal poet. Apart from poetry, he also wrote literary articles which were published in various magazines of Bihar. Some of the book authored by him have also made the scene. He has also been associated with various social and political organizations and received rewards and honors that gained him much fame and prestige.
