Profile of Maikash Warsi
Maikash Warsi's real name was Abdul Hafeez Khan. He was the son of Hakim Abdul Majeed Khan Warsi of Jagdishpur District, Bhojpur. He was born in 1935 in Jagdishpur. He got his early education in a local madrassa from Qari Abdul Razzaq Sahib. He then entered high school and passed the matriculation examination in 1952. He joined the registration department in Bihar in 1969 and retired from the same department in 1990 and spent the rest of his life at home. Maikash Warsi was a natural poet who had inherited the art from his elder brother Jami Warsi, one of the most famous poets of Ara. He continued to take Islaah from his elder brother Jami Warsi and continued to chisel his skills. Maikash had pledged allegiance to Munawar Shah Hamil Warsi. His works can be found in his text titled "Kalam-e-Maikash". He passed away on July 20, 2002.
