Born in 1819, Taslim Lakhnavi 's real name was Ahmed Hussain and his pen name was Munshi Amirullah. Since he belonged to Lucknow, he was known as Munshi Amirullah Taslim Lakhnavi. Hasrat Mohani, a famous Urdu poet and one who played a significant role in the war of independence, has also become a disciple of Munshi Amirullah Taslim. It is said that Jigar Muradabadi, too, used to sought corrections in his poetry from Taslim. Taslim Lakhnavi passed away in 1911.
