Natiq Lakhnavi was born in 1878 in Lucknow. Natiq's full name was Saeed Ahmed and his surname was Abulola. His father's name was Abdul Baseer Huzoor. He was also an Urdu poet. His ancestors are said to have come to India from Baghdad and settled in the town of Deva in Barabanki district.Natiq was educated in Lucknow. Initially, he made writing a source of livelihood.He was the editor of a magazine in Hyderabad. He practiced medicine, recited poems and participated in poetry readings. He used to recite poetry in both Urdu and Persian. Natiq also stayed in Kanpur for some time. He was a pupil of Ameer Minai in poetry. Natiq Lakhnavi settled in Chittagong, Bangladesh in his last years. He suffered a stroke in later life. He died of a stroke on Monday, October 9, 1950. Natiq was buried at Mohalla Badar Patti behind Mazar Badar Shah Chittagong.
