Profile of Qaseem Warsi
Born Syed Qasimuddin, he wrote under the pen name Qasim Shahsarami. He was born on February 23, 1971, in the town of Pero, Bhojpur. His father's name was Hakim Syed Shahabuddin Warsi Shahsarami who was a very amiable and respected person. He received his primary education from a local Madrassa. Being fond of reading and writing from the beginning, Qasim engaged in teaching and learning activities. Meanwhile, he continued honing his poetic craft. Poetry was inherited by Qasim Warsi Shahsarami. The rich legacy of poetry among his ancestors included Syed Ghulam Makhdoom Mast Shahsarami from the first generation, Syed Qamaruddin Kaif Shahsarami from the second generation, Syed Shahabuddin Warsi Shahsarami, Syed Ali Ahmed Yusuf Shahsarami, and Syed Javed Alam Shoq Shahsarami, Munir Saifi, Ejaz Alam Zauq Shahsarami, Imtiaz Alam Rahi from the third generation. Now, with Qasim, the fourth generation of poets in his family is underway. Qasim Warsi entered the Warsi order through Raqim Shah Warsi. He had a great devotion to Haji Waris Ali Shah. Qasim was often invited to religious gatherings. He recited Naat in his own unique Tarannum. His poems were also published in several magazines and journals. Thus far, two collections of his poems "Kalam-e-Abshar" and "Abshar-e-Rahmat" have been published.
