Born in Gwalior, he was a disciple of Vallabhacharya. He met Vallabhacharya at Gaughat near Runakta, which is largely contested as his birth-place. On the basis of Pushtimarga, he composed thousands of verses of Krishna Bhakti, which is famous as Sursagar. His other two compositions Sursaravali and Sahitya-lahari are famous.
