Profile of Bahram ji
Dastur Bahramji was born on December 2, 1828 in Nosari, the most important center of the Parsis in Gujarat. Bahramji received his religious education in Nosari and was made a Muubid on March 27, 1843. After that he went to Poona and studied religion and Persian language under the supervision of his father and elder brother. Then he came to Hyderabad. Here, he perfected Urdu, Persian, and his knowledge of Parsi theology under Maulvi Fakhruddin. Later, he was appointed the Dastoor of Parsis. From 1863 a new phase of his life began when he was appointed a Talluq-dar. In 1875, his life took another turn and he retired with the permission of Nawab Salar Jang and was again appointed to the Dastoor of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. During this time he released many funds for the Parsis and died on March 18, 1895, after nearly twenty years of Dastoor-ship.
