Shams Sabri was the father of Aughat Shah Warsi. He is counted among the key Sufi poets. Shams's real name is Shah Shamsuddin Chishti Sabri. Initially, he had taken up the profession of landlordism and employment in his hometown of Moradabad district, but after that, he joined Haji Ghulam Rasool Qadri. At the behest of the Murshid, he continued to be engaged in pilgrimage for twelve consecutive years and the celebrities benefited from the service and companionship of Sufia. He had pledged allegiance to Hazrat Pir Ali Shah, the elder of Kaliar in Chishtia Sabria. Caliphate was also granted to him and he was ordered to go to Ajmer Sharif and meditate on the Astana of the Khwaja. Shams Sabri's poetic works have been published under the name of Ainaa-e-Asrar-e-Ma'rafat. He died in 1894 in Moradabad district on 11th ZilQa'dah 1313 AH.
