जिस काम में स्वार्थ जाए, उस से बरकत उठ जाती है।

दुनिया को बहुत ही छोटी, नीच और तुच्छ चीज़ समझो।

फ़क़ीरी कठिन है।

दौलत को मुसीबत समझो और उसे भूखों-प्यासों को दे दो और ख़ैरात करो, क्योंकि आख़िर में तो क़ब्र में कीड़े ही उसे खाएँगे। अगर तुम ने ख़ैरात की, तो वही लोग तुम्हारा सच्चा सहारा बनेंगे।

ख़ुदा को सच्चे दिल से तलाश करो।

ज्ञान प्राप्त करो, विनम्रता सीखो और उस पर अमल करो।

फ़क़ीर को चाहिए कि वह बादशाहों की दोस्ती को ख़तरनाक साँप और अजगर की तरह माने, क्योंकि जब कोई फ़क़ीर किसी बादशाह के नज़दीक हो जाता है, तो समझो कि उसकी आध्यात्मिक जमा-पूंजी नष्ट हो गई।

सच्चे साधक को चाहिए कि अहंकार, आत्म-प्रशंसा, घमंड और दिखावे को छोड़ दे और इन बुराईयों को अपने अस्तित्व से पूरी तरह मिटा दे।

अगर दुनिया पानी पर चलने वाली एक नाव है और इस ज़मीन पर पानी का नाम-ओ-निशाँ तक नहीं है, तो तुम ग़ोता-ख़ोर बन जाओ, पर डूबने वाले मत बनो।

स्वर्ग की चाह मत रखो, क्योंकि यह भी एक प्रकार की सज़ा ही है। सिर्फ़ ख़ुदा का चाहने वाला बनो, क्योंकि ख़ुदा का चाहने वाला समझदार, निडर और बहादुर होता है।

لفظ ’’صوفی‘‘ کی کوئی ایسی جڑ یا ماخذ نہیں جو عام لغوی اصولوں کے دائرے میں آتی ہو، کیوں کہ صوفیانہ طریقہ اتنا بلند پایہ اور ماورائی ہے کہ اسے کسی عام جنس یا زمرے سے ماخوذ قرار دینا ممکن نہیں، یہ ایک ایسا راز ہے جو زبان کے اسباق سے بالاتر ہے۔

وہی لوگ نکاح کے لائق ہیں جو انسانوں کے ساتھ میل جول کو پسند کرتے ہیں اور جو بندگی کی تنہائی کو اختیار کرنا چاہتے ہیں، ان کے لیے تجرد ایک زیور ہے۔

جب تک خدا بندے کی طرف اپنا کرم نہ کرے، بندے کی محنت بے کار ہے۔

پہلے صوفیانہ عمل پہچانا جاتا تھا اور دکھاوا ناواقف تھا، آج دکھاوا جانا پہچانا ہے اور صوفیانہ عمل غائب ہو چکا ہے۔

خدا نے اپنے صوفیہ کو نظامِ کائنات کا نگران و نگہبان بنایا ہے۔

معجزات میں جلوہ ہے، کرامات میں راز۔

آنکھ کی ہوس ہے نظر، کان کی چاہ ہے سماعت، ناک کی تمنا ہے خوشبو، زبان کی آرزو ہے گفتگو، ذائقے کی چاہ ہے لذت، جسم کی تمنا ہے لمس اور دل کی طلب ہے سوچ۔

درویش کی چوکھٹ ہر معنی میں استعارہ ہے فقر کا اور اس کے تمام ذیلی پہلوؤں میں ایک ماورائی حقیقت پوشیدہ ہے۔
