hamin dair-o-kaba KHuda-o-sanam

kisi ko to zahid ko hoti mohabbat

sitam karte mil kar to phir lutf thā

raat-bhar phirta tha kanāñ mein zuleKHa ka KHayal

qabr par daman-kashan hi aao aao to sahi

banaya mujhe gham ne taswir-e-yas

har ek jism mein hai wahi bas KHamosh

KHuda jaane tha KHwab mein kya saman

wahi zat-e-mutlaq wahi be-nazir

tere ghar mein is darja chhup chhup ke roe

KHuda jaane wo ja rahe the kahan

rahe tu bari ta-qayudat se

na khilti kali go meri aarzu ki

wae qismat shama puchhe bhi na parwanon ki baat

mere ghar na aaen na mujhko balaen

hamin dair-o-kaba KHuda-o-sanam

rahe tū barī tā-qayūdāt se

KHuda jaane tha KHwab mein kya saman

aaj ik aur baras biit gayā us ke baġhair

jis ke hote hue hote the zamāne mere
